Kalfrisa, committed to sustainability, participates in various initiatives to promote a greener and more efficient future.
In this context, from Kalfrisa, with the help of the R&D department, we participate in the LIFE callin the Circular Economy and Quality of Life subprogram, with the projectABATE.
From Kalfrisa, we carried out the detailed engineering for two demo sites, located at Ecoparc 3 in Sant Adrià del Besòs, in Barcelona, and in Las Dehesas, in Madrid, and we are in charge of implementing the first VOC scrubbing element using technology based on adsorption/desorption processes (Zeolitic matrix rotoconcentrator) that will transform large volume streams with low VOC concentrations (20,000 Nm3/h) into a stream highly concentrated in VOCs (2,000 Nm3/h) together with a stream of clean air free of VOCs (18,000 Nm3/h).
Expected benefits include significant improvements in the operating costs of both demos sites: VOC removal efficiency of 90-95%, a 90% reduction in natural gas and thermal energy consumption, and a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions.
In addition, operating and capital cost reductions in air and gas treatment are expected.
This project is aligned with the objectives set out in the PERTE of Circular Economy, developing sustainable solutions that contribute to the protection of the environment and promotes Kalfrisa’s role in the transition towards a more responsible and regenerative economy.
