Kalfrisa has developed a project with the company Plastigaur
Kalfrisa, in its ongoing commitment to the environment and energy efficiency, has developed a project together with the company Plastigaur, for the installation of thermal oxidation equipment to prevent the emission of volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere.
Plastigaur, a company with more than 30 years of history in the development of flexible packaging for industry, adheres to the principles of the Circular Economy. Therefore, in 2022, the company decided to install a regenerative thermal oxidation system to avoid emissions into the atmosphere of volatile organic compounds related to the printing processes.
The installed equipment is an RTO capable of treating a maximum flow rate of 34.000 Nm3/h and a wide range of volatile organic compound loading that can range from 500 to 3.000 mg/Nm3.
In this project, the precise definition of the baseline data was key to its success and more efficient design. Therefore, Kalfrisa performed measurements in the initial phase of the project at the outlets of the printing lines of those main parameters for the design of the equipment.
Thus, by considering the simultaneity of the different production lines, he was able to optimize the design of the installation. This allows it to operate most of the time autonomously and without consuming any fuel at all; As a result, greater efficiency and sustainability in the operation is achieved.
