New Facility in Almeria to Eliminate Volatile Organic Compounds
Kalfrisa continues its commitment to environmental protection and energy efficiency.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce that a new regenerative thermal oxidation system has been installed and put into operation at the Cosentino Group’s facilities in Almeria to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds;
With this installation, a successful customer-supplier relationship of more than two decades continues, in which Kalfrisa and Cosentino were pioneers in the installation in Spain of this type of technology to avoid atmospheric pollution.
Over the years, Kalfrisa has continued with a clear process of continuous improvement, which continues to this day, and which leads to the pursuit of priority and current objectives, such as the reduction of fossil fuel consumption, or the use of alternative energy sources from renewable sources.
The thermal oxidation plant recently installed at Cosentino treats a flow of contaminated gases of 122,000 Nm3/h in a 5-tower plant.3/h in a 5-tower plant. Furthermore, in this new installation, the design principles that guarantee an energy efficiency of more than 96% are maintained, as well as self-thermicity, i.e. a completely self-sustainable purification process, provided that the concentration of volatile organic compounds in the customer’s production process is sufficient.
Finally, it should also be noted that one of the keys to the proper functioning of the installation is its preventive maintenance, a fundamental pillar in which Kalfrisa works hand in hand with all its customers.
